Tired of the typical West Virginia "good ole boy" attitude? Well, Joe "Mojo" Manchin MUST go for that to ever change. This page is meant to accomplish just that. Self-serving, self-righteous, narcissistic, out of touch, and down right BETTER than the rest of us...these are some of MOJO'S REAL talking points. Gotta go Joe...

nionrepWeeks unveils new ad, focusing on
scandal at WVU, cronyism issue
Republican gubernatorial candidate Russ Weeks today unveiled a new statewide radio ad, highlighting the scandal at West Virginia University and the cronyism and nepotism inside the Manchin administration.
The ad debuts today and runs through Friday on “Talkline,” airing on all 21 stations that make up Hoppy Kercheval’s statewide talk show, as well as on separate programs throughout the day on various stations in Charleston, Morgantown, Huntington, Wheeling and Beckley. A video version of the ad is also available at www.russweeks2008.com, as well as on You Tube.
At the conclusion of the ad, Weeks urges listeners to “watch me take these issues directly to Governor Manchin” at their first debate on October 13th.
“The events at WVU, where the governor’s daughter was given a degree she did not earn, is the best example of the good old boys’ network at work in West Virginia,” said Weeks. “The degree was awarded by creating ‘grades from thin air,’ not because of what the student knew, but because of who she was related to. And absolutely no one in a position of power tried to stop it from happening.”
“Talkline” is broadcast in the West Virginia markets of Bluefield, Charleston, Clarksburg, Elkins, Fairmont, Grafton, Huntington, Kingwood, Logan, Martinsburg, Morgantown, Mullens, New Martinsville, Parkersburg, Rainelle, Ravenswood, Ronceverte, Weirton, Welch, Wheeling, and also in Tazewell, Va., which also reaches the southern parts of West Virginia
Sorry, last comment got screwed up when I copied and pasted.

W.Va. grievance judges hit with ethics complaint

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A group of public employees wants the state Ethics Commission to review the conduct of two administrative law judges assigned to hear workers’ grievance petitions.
The West Virginia Public Workers Union is targeting the rulings that Administrative Law Judges Denise Spatafore and Brenda Gould issued while their standing with the State Bar was in question.
The two had not been completing the continuing legal education sessions required for lawyers, allowing their licenses to slip into inactive status.
They were briefly removed from hearing further cases last month, but have since restored their license status and returned to the bench.
The employees group alleges the judges’ inactive status impairs more than a year’s worth of their rulings. It announced its complaint Monday
State's largest teacher union listens to grassroots voices who are upset that Manchin has treated them with much less attention and concern than promised in 2004 race
In a stunning move, the West Virginia Education Assocation announced Tuesday it was not endorsing Joe Manchin for re-election because "there are many members out there who are not completely satisfied with the direction education has gone in the last four years," according to WVEA President Dale Lee, as reported by MetroNews.
The snub of Manchin is a shocking development, since the WVEA was a major booster of his as a candidate in the 2004 elections.
In fact, it was almost painful reading Lee's explanation of his union's decision, since he seemed personally in disagreement with the verdict of his rank and file. For example, Lee said, ""We endorsed the governor four years ago when it really made a difference. At this point it looks like he will be reelected and we will continue to have a relationship with him."
In other words, please don't be mad at me, governor.
MetroNews also reported that "Governor Manchin lashed out at both the WVEA and West Virginia Federation of Teachers on the last night of the legislative session last March. Manchin told MetroNews he was getting 'no cooperation' from the groups."
No official reaction yet from the Manchin campaign, although chandeliers were heard rattling on Kanawha Boulevard.
The WVEA's decision is exactly what West Virginians for Life should have done, if its leadership was bold enough to do so
Tonight's first face-off between Gov. Joe Manchin and his GOP challenger, former state Sen. Russ Weeks, will be broadcast live on CSPAN-2.
The national cable public affairs channel added the event to its lineup over the weekend. The event is sponsored by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association and will be moderated by Hoppy Kercheval, host of "Talkline" on the MetroNews radio network.
The debate gets underway at 7 p.m. from the Clay Center in Charleston. In addition to CSPAN, the confrontation will be carried live by several TV stations around the state, as well as live on MetroNews radio stations.
Weeks met Sunday with a national crew from ABC news, which was gathering footage for a future broadcast
